Rylan Michelle Phipps

First we felt it, and then we saw it.  Rylan’s first tooth is starting to emerge!  We’re not quite to the ‘photographic’ stage yet, but it’s there, we promise.  And tomorrow I hope to show you her newest feat.  Stay tuned.

We know it’s been awhile since we posted some video of Rylan, so you’re probably wondering what skills she’s acquired recently.  Well, check out the video below and you can see for yourself.

So, do you think she has a career in music or basketball??

Rylan had her 6 month checkup with Dr. Betty and as usual, she’s doing great!  Here’s her latest stats:

• Weight: 20lbs (75th percentile)
• Length: 26in

Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures handy to post today.

The surgery went just fine and Rylan is doing wonderful!  Thanks for all your prayers.  I was a total wreck before and during the procedure, but everything went perfectly.

Rylan has been battling an ear infection for 4 weeks now, and despite 3 different types of oral antibiotics, it just won’t go away.  So earlier this week she got 2 shots (on two different days) of antibiotics, and we made a trip to the ear, nose, and throat specialist.  We decided it would be in her best interest to get tubes placed in her ears to allow the fluid there to drain and hopefully avoid any future infections.

So, this coming Monday, Nov. 24, Rylan will be getting tubes in her ears.  We really hope this relieves her pain and discomfort.  She really hasn’t been sleeping well at all since she first got the infections.  We’d all appreciate your prayers for her (and mom and dad too!).

And she is…………a ladybug!  The rest of the pictures are in the gallery.

So Rylan has officially started eating veggies and fruits.  She started out with bananas (pictures below) and since then we’ve tried applesauce, carrots, and sweet potatoes.  So far we haven’t found anything she doesn’t like.  And today we found out she now weighs 19lbs!  Unfortunately we also found out that she has her first ear infections. 

So we’ve reached the 4 month mark and Rylan is just growing like a weed!

Current stats:

• Weight: 17lbs 0.2oz (100th percentile)
• Length: 25.25in (90th percentile)

And now she’s starting to eat Rice cereal.  She’s really doing well with it, but unfortunately we think she’s hit another growth spurt so we haven’t noticed her sleeping any better.

And finally, here are some pictures from the day of her dedication (September 7, 2008).

Rylan is officially rolling over on her own now.  Problem is, she definitely won’t do it on our schedule.  So to date, we still don’t have any photo/video evidence.  You’re just gonna have to take our word for it!

She first rolled over last Saturday, September 13.  We kept hoping we have video by now so we could post it, but we haven’t been so lucky.

And no, we’re not talking about the ‘mystery sound’ around the 1 minute mark in this video!
